The Legislature

  • Public House 210 Front Street Lincoln, RI, 02865 United States (map)

Join us for a social speaker series dedicated to learning about Rhode Island government in a friendly, casual environment. Come meet other civic-curious people, and walk away with a toolbox of direct actions you can take to make meaningful change in your local community. And maybe make some new friends!

This event focuses on the State Legislature—the RI General Assembly. Who are these people, what do they do, and how can we influence them? Learn the behind-the-scenes goings-on at the State House, things like how lawmaking happens and info about specific lawmakers that might help make approaching them well, more approachable. It’s your right as a Rhody to talk to your reps. How are they supposed to know what we want, or be held accountable, if we don’t talk to them? This event will dispel the mystique around these folks who are supposed to represent us, and give you the tools and confidence to take advantage of direct access to your lawmakers.
